Irma's speggeti models
Right now I am surrounded by speggeti. 15 miles West of Mar-a-lago and 20 miles North of a fellow club member. Hoping it all blows around and not over me or the others nearby.

What the heck!!
For all on the potential path, PLEASE stay safe.....evacuate while you can. Irma is looking to be quite the beast. I really wanted to call her by another name but I thought I'd keep it clean here. And I'm already hearing the one following her (Jose) is ramping up as well. Geez!!
If anyone needs a place to go, I'm in Illinois and you are welcome here. Yea, yea, we have tornados now & then but right now it's a safe zone comparatively.....unless you head into certain parts of Chicago, but we won't go there, that's another topic! lol

OK, here's the plan...
There are enough of us active on this RCC forum that we can set up a refuge for fellow RCC folk (and their significant others could come along, too) who must flee the elements of nature. The only requirements are (1) NO: hurricanes, flash floods, earthquakes, winter storm watches, drifting snow or black ice, tornadoes, wild fires, damaging winds, or heat advisories. Also, (2) it MUST have access to good pizza, quality beer or ale, dependable WiFi, and friendly flora and fauna. A Wegman's would be nice, but in its stead a well-stocked grocery store with fresh produce would suffice.
Where I live only ranks 10 out of 17, but the rating points include good pizza, quality local brewed beer / ale, and no hurricanes.
At any rate, be careful out there.

Dear JerzyGrrl! I needed a laugh and giggled at your scale. Our spot is at 12 out of 17. So, we can host, too. Only problem: we're over 2,000 miles away, but it's very dry here for someone who needs a break from sea water.
Ditto--Hoping everyone makes it through Irma!!

Looks like you've bumped me and are at the top of the list. It's maybe a shorter drive to your place, too. Or not. How many can you host? I can put up six and put up with six. In a crisis, at least eight. We got this !

Prayers to all
Our prayers go out to all in Irmas projected path, and Harvey's victims. We were hit by Sandy, no structural damage but friends and family got crushed. The memories are still fresh. Be safe at this uncertain time.

Sure gives...icemantoo said:Left over Marinara (meatless) sause.
Irma is on her way North much weaker than she showed off earlier and other than 4? inches of rain or so we were spared on the East Coast. Stll holding onto our power which keeps flickering on and off.

Glad to hear you're OK. This sure gives one's geography knowledge a workout. The news says "West coast of Florida," then lists what's happening in areas on the EAST coast of the state. Then it explains the geography around the keys and Jacksonville. My head is spinning (not nearly as impressively as the hurricane is spinning, though).
The news tells of a woman cut off from EMS folks who had to deliver her own baby. At least they talked her through it. So glad that RCC grows way slower than hurricanes travel or labor advances. Can you imagine having to do your own neph (In that case, I'd go the speedy way and take the whole kidney... Plus be the first person to see it you could just make overhand knots in the blood vessels)?!
Stay safe, wherever you are, but especially if you are facing storms, real and / or metaphoric.

Gainesville. Eye wall shouldicemantoo said:
Gainesville. Eye wall should be passing over in the next hour or so! It's windy and rainy but this could have been SO much worse for us. However, I literally grew up at ground zero where it made landfall in the keys on Cudjoe Key. Heartbroken for those I know down there.

Dont look now but Maria is following her older sister Irma.
Lets hope for Maria to show us some mercy and go North! I weathered Irma here in Cape Canaveral. Keeping fingers crossed!
