Fear

Has any one else had rather severe pain beneath their ribs and shoulder blade?  Sometimes my whole chest seems like it tight binding around it.  Sometime just a jabbing pain, sometimes dull.  First thought it was heartburn.  My oncologist ordered a CT scan to make sure my wayward tumors haven't gone looking for a new home again.  Any ideas?

Hugs and prayers, Lou Ann

Im so sorry lou Ann to hear

Im so sorry lou Ann to hear about your pain.  All I can think about is when I was going through chemo I bruised some of my ribs.  I didnt know how it happened other than after I was done with chemo I found I had ostioprosis which tells me my ribs can be bruised really easy.  Bruised ribs for me were very painful.  I know you said it was below your ribs so it might not be that.  I hope you are feeling better soon

    Lou Ann:

I was experiencing the same thing.   Do you also burp? or feel sometimes like you can't take a deep breath?   I had this many times.  Mostly right before bed.  Then one day in the morning I had the same thing but I starting to feel weird up my left shoulder and neck (more than usual).   Because my father had heart disease, I asked my husband to take me to the ER.   Good news was that my heart was fine.  But I ended being diagnosed with Pancreatitis.   My lipase levels were very high.   For that time, I was hopsitalized for 4 days.    After that, when I started to have that feeling again, I would call my PCP and ask for a script to have my Lipase levels checked.   I had pancreatitis several times after that (which I wasn't hospitalized for).

For pancreatitis, you have to give your insides a rest so I would eat very soft foods and very light whenever I started to feel the symptoms again.

I hope you are feeling better.
