New Chemical

My nurse just emailed me to tell me the name of the new chemical I will begin Wednesday in addition to the Folfox.  The new chemical name is Cyramza (Ramucirumab).  Has anyone had any experience with this target chemo and if so, what side effects did you experience?

    Thanks

Thanks Dave, yeah the spec sheet my nurse sent me does sound promising.  If the side effects of it are anything like what I experienced with Avastin four years ago, it should be a cake walk.....all except the Folfox of course.

    Cyramza

Hi Phoenix - Please let us know more about this and how it affects your treatment.  Always good to know of options available - my Onco has said that tumours often mutate and then another option needs to be tried.  Best of luck - hoping you get positive results by adding this to your folfox.  I am having avastin right now with folfiri.

    Cyramza

Well today was retreatment #1.  My chemo nurse said that the Cyramza had very little side effects like Avastin but was supposed to be stronger.  She also said this chemo had not been out long.  I can honestly say that having had Folfox in 2006, Folfiri with Avastin in 2014 and now Folfox with Cyramza, it all seems the same as far as how I feel during treatments.  CANCER SUX!  My onc had orginally said my regiment would be 6 treatments every two weeks with Cyramza maintenance every two weeks after that for an undetermined time.  Today he said he we may continue Folfox for more than 6 treatments depending on scans and tests at 3 months.  Not what I wanted to hear.
