    Hi Patty!  I am Chromophobe as well.  I had two tumors (2.2cm and 0.8cm) in my right kidney.  If you have questions or want to start a new thread please feel free to do so.  We are here for each other.

    Chromophobe RCC

    Here is my information in the event this chromophobe database is still being maintained:

    Male, age 41 at the time, diagnosed in mid-October 2016 with simple right nephrectomy on 12/1/16. Stage 2, grade 2, tumor 9.2 cm at largest dimension, no sarcomatoid features and negative margins. USA (Atlanta area), Caucasian, blood type A. CT scan for 6 month checkup didn't show any abnormalities and the blood sample reported normal kidney function. My surgeon has me scheduled for CT scan with IV contrast annually for at least 5 years and this is planned for December 2017. 

    On the positive side after the nephrectomy, my seasonal allergies this spring have been about the mildest in a couple decades and typical blood pressure readings have dropped about 10 points (both systolic and diastolic) from high-normal to normal. I've made a few dietary adjustments since my experience with RCC, so it's unclear if the excision of the tumor or other factors may have yielded some benefits that I can only hope will persist.

    Hi everyone, it's been a while since I was online so I was surprised to check in and find the chromophobe thread. I'd have to double check the stage of my cancer but I believe it was T1. I had a partial right neprectomy and have no metastasis but things have been weird! Several nodes in lungs that are all under 5 mm but new ones continue to show up, enlarged lymph nodes, sarcoidosis, big cyst on liver that's growing, Etc. Then recently I found things on the internet that say that there's a 1 in 3 chance of KC reoccurrence and that kidney cancer never really goes away. After two unrelated surgeries this past year, I feel great and better than I have in 20 years so I'm holding onto that but still! I guess I now understand why when I asked my doctor during my five year checkup after surgery if I was "cured" she said "you could look at it that way, but we're going to follow you forever."
