A Day Filled with Gratitude and Joy!
Hi All
So happy to see the NED posts and everyone's support! Stage 3b rectal cancer with LAR 7/13 lymphnodes involved. Just finished 12 rounds of Folfox 4 (rang the bell!) and celebrated by completing a 5K walk/run. Cat scans on Monday with results today that showed both the chest and abdomen/pelvis - no masses. I have only been on this journey since October 2016 but it has been such a roller coaster. Everyone's posts have been so helpful to understand the process and what to expect. Now time to schedule the port removal and ileostomy reversal. I have been welling up all day with tears of joy and gratitude for all the friends and family who have supported me as well as for those who are still waiting for NED. I recognize that recurrence during the next 18 months is high risk but drinking lots of coffee and eating tree nut butter. Learning to run again...
I am so thrilled to be able to say NED and pray for everyone else to be able to say the same...
Thank you CSN friends for your ongoing support and engagement!
Cindy

That's wonderful Cindy, enjoy
That's wonderful Cindy, enjoy the moment and those feelings, that NEDness. Have you looked into baby[81mg] aspirin and its asserted anti-crc properties? If your stomach isn't too sensitive, it may be worth trying. Again Congrats.......................................Dave

Congratulations
You have much to be thankful for so time for the happy dance. Dance, sing, jump around because it's all good to do especially when you get such good news like you did today. Your travel may include some tests, but you got past a really hard one and now there is light again. Way to go and enjoy the day and moment. Thanks for sharing your news.
