Radiation Twice?

I can't remember if I posted this before, I don't think I did. I should just search it but I'm not good at that. My mets in my lung, my onc doesn't think they can be radiated again. That it could only be done the one time, which was over a year ago. Anyone know anything about that? She's a chemo doctor so radiation isn't her thing. I'd much rather have radiation again. It was quick and easy and over and done with.

    I was told....

    that radiation for me was a one shot thing. Not that I would ever have it done again. Radiation was pure HELL.

    When I went for my radiation back in january, there was man that had radiation in same place, rectal area 7 years ago, cancer went away first time than came back 7 years latter , same area.

    Lungs, I would ask to see radiologist, or would just call where I went for my radiation to see Dr. that followed me at that time.

    I had the suspect spots.  One was real wonky in the lung as of diagnosis, ( had maybe 4 or 5 in the lungs open to debate) coupled with chemo variations.  Finally it looked like a met for sure about 6 months out of last chemo and they just went for the lung surgery and took it out.  It is the only one that has gone off the rails so far - no chemo or radiation on this.  (Got another cancer it looks like about to be confirmed in the next couple of weeks, unless I get a break, then will be back in the whole surgery/chemo/radiation thing.  Not a fan of this at all.)

    That's what I've been told.  It's not possible to radiate the same spot or near that area and I'm not sure why but it's not possible again. I'm not sure what they do in that circumstance. I'm sorry that you are facing this possibility.  Hope they can find an alternative means of options.

    Thanks. I wish I could get the surgery nd get that nasty crap out of there. But the pulmonary surgeon gave me only a 30% chance of even surviving the surgery. If it comes down to it later that might be a chance I'm willing to take, though, at some point in the future. I can't remember why the odds were so low, probably because of the blood thinners and the odds of a blood clot, I don't know. The met is right at the opening into the lung so they'd take the whole thing out.
