stll looking for answers
Hi everyone,
I posted here last year about some issues that i have in my throat (trouble eating, breathing and speaking ) i already saw three ENT doctors and nobody can find out what's going on with me. The last doctor ordered a CT scan but it was clear. I swear there is something stuck in my throat that is really annoying me all the time. I was wondering if it could be a pre-cancerous lesions. I'm tired of taking medication for acid reflux and not improve at all. I'm scared and ashamed to eat in front of people because food get stuck sometimes and some people don't really understand .
Is a CT scan enough to detect tumors in the neck area and scope?
By the way i apologize for my bad gramma!
Thank you
Danni

Throat Exercises
There are speech therapists that can check your swallowing and give you exercises to improve swallowing. My husband did this after radiation caused damage to throat muscles. It was quite effective. My husband got his referral from the ENT doc.
You never have cancer til they tell you you have cancer.
Hope this helps.

Danni,
I believe you! I had troubles as you described, but they got better with time. I did not seek out speech therapy for almost 3 years, but when I did my talking voice, telephone voice and public voice saw big improvements.
I still feel like things are sometimes stuck in my throat (and they are). I have gotten so use to it that I can cough up a piece of hamburger (or whatever) an hour after eating. I am extremely careful eating, but it still happens. It takes lots of practice for some of us to eat in public. I eat out and I eat at family activities, but I select carefully and I am the last to finish.
I have always thought a PET detects activity and a CT is for sizing (and activity). Maybe, there is no cancer swimming around and you just have a ways to go on your new normal. If there was cancer, I am sure one of the three ENT’s would detect it.
I apologize for not having all the answers.
Now back to Sunday outside, no talking, no eating, and no problems.

If you have not been diagnosed, you must be diagnosed. My answers pertained to after treatment side effects.
I'm concerned because a large number of people is misdiagnosed o delayed in diagnosis. Seems like some doctors don't taker theirs job seriously.
Why do i have to beg for scans when i have insurance?
I know everyone is different but i was wondering if lump in the neck is considered late stages assuming its cancer?
Are lymph nodes visible when they are swollen? ?
The last ENT doctor that i saw told me that I'm to young to fit into oral cancer groups. HE'S TOTALLY WRONG, i know a lot young people under 40s that has oral cancer.
Thank you
