Really worried
Hello,
I am a 26 year old female and mom to two children. I am currently breastfeeding my youngest who is a little over 2 years old. About 2 weeks ago, I noticed my armpit swelled up. It seemed to happen quite suddenly, or I at least hadn't noticed it until then. I went to see my doctor and she did a breast exam and told me I had two lymph nodes that were squishy. She didn't seemed concerned at the time and then I mentioned I had a small rash on my back where my bra lays. She took a look and said it looked to be a fungal rash due to working out. It doesn't hurt and it seems to be worse at night then in the morning. Could a fungal rash cause it to swell up like that? I'm a very worried person and have never had issues with my breast. My mom had atypical ductal hyperplasia when she was around my age but thats the only thing in my family. I'm so scared and worried. The doctor told me if nothing changed in a month, we would go for more testing.

I don't believe
I don't believe it could be shingles. I've been working out for a few weeks now. I don't know if maybe I over did that side, or if it's just excess fat or excess breast tissue. My doctor wants to wait a month and see if it will go back to normal. The only time I notice it is when my arms are lifted over my head. I don't notice it while I'm doing normal things. I tried to make an appointment with my OBGYN and she's booked out till December. I then tried another OBGYN and she wants me to get a referral from my primary care doctor. Should I give it the month and see if it changes? I'm a very worry type of person and I'm getting ready to go on vacation next week So hoping that takes my mind off it.

Quick update
I finally called the nurse back and asked if I could have an ultrasound done. She spoke to the doctor and they are going to request an ultrasound and mammogram. I'm so worried and scared that something will come back. I don't know why else it will feel the way it feels. There's no definite lump, it's just swollen like. And no other symptoms. It just doesn't make sense.

Good luck! No sense worrying and I hope it is just related to the breast feeding.

Hello B9, try not to worry so much I know its hard..but if the doctors thought it was very urgent they would have told you or requested testing the first time. but also if you know its something very strange than what you normally see ..then yes act on it. we know our bodies better than anyone!!!
ENJOY YOU TIME WITH YOUR LITTLE ONE ..
GOOD LUCK AND PRAYERS WITH EVERYTHING ...Beepositive
