Opinions from survivors needed

OK.  I am wrapping my head around all of this today and I would like opinions of those who have completed the 6 week radiation, weekly chemo for 12 weeks, and the Herceptin for a year, followed by 5 yr. aromatase inhibitor  regimen.  I am currently being treated by an excellent hospital that I love. It is about a 90 minute to 2 hr. Drive away depending on the traffic. I have to drive through 2 city traffic jams to get there.

I was treated for another cancer at this hospital 6 yrs. ago and because I was so sick and weak even before the treatments, I relied on my family to drive me. I am divorced and live alone and my only child lives and works 3 hours away from me.

I am feel fine right now. Will the treatments make me too sick to drive myself most days to the treatment? I could find a local hospital, but frankly, the hospitals where I live are substandard and I just don't trust them at all.  What I need to know is how sick will the treatments make me?

Thanks for any input you might have! I appreciate it.

    Here goes

    2 things.

1st No one knows how you will react.  I worked full time through it all and never felt horrible except for the 3rd day after chemo.  I drove from work into the city each day.

2nd thing. Call ACS as they have Hope Lodges at many hospitals for patients living mopre than 50 miles away as I do. If they don't where you are your hospital may have a similat thing going on.

I am at year 15 and also love my hospital. Don't be afraid of the aromatose inhibotor.  I am still on it. No problems after a couple months.

    Take care

    Thanks
Thanks, Tufi. Sounds like it is pretty doable. My last treatment was tough and living alone and trying to handle a household and the treatments was exhausting. I would rather come home each day, if i can.
