Kevin, (WhatIsLife) has passed..
I rarely post, but I feel I owe my dear friend, Kevin, the respect by coming here to announce he passed March 31st in his sleep.
Kevin 54yo, was immensely supported by many of you and it meant to the world to him. He had no partner, family, children, just his two cats. His only remaining friend worked out of the USA. He was in the hospital for over 6 weeks, till his insurance insisted he leave. (long ugly story).
Ironically, the last person I consulted with was Mark, (mrou50) who offered Kevin his phone number as he too had mets to the bone. Never knew if they connected or not. Here Mark was feeling so badly in Feb/March yet reached out to me to help me help Kevin. For those who didn't know, Mark departed on March 17th, Kevin th 31st of March.
Kevinwas the sweetest, most considerate man who loved animals and MUSIC!! He had thousands of albums/CDs etc. He lost most of his friends after becoming disabled due to a back injury from the Post Office. Yet it took him YEARS fighting for his permanent disability.
See how much you guys mean to us?
All I know is, in the last months, WE were Kevin's only contacts and support system. I deemed myself his "medical guardian angel" and remained in close touch. He really opened up, shared his vulnerabilities and fears. He still took on the "system" best he could. Mark was there both for me and for Kevin. What a guy!
Today, I just spoke to his sister who was willling to take him home with her, ony he never made it. Ironically, I dreamed he died, but there is NO obit or announcement. I kept searching and searching till today, found his sister's name and number. Whew..
So folks do yourself the favor and your family the courtesy to get your medical/financial affairs in order. It really lessens the burden and stress on those left behind.
My heart is hurting, yet happy! RELIEF for my friend~
Forever in my heart,
Jan

Hi Jan,
Hi Jan,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Kevin. I know he was blessed to have your friendship and support. Also, it was very moving to know that Mark was willing to reach out to help him, even though he was so ill himself. So sad to lose our CSN friends.
Rest in peace, Kevin.
Big hugs
Jojo

So true that
for a lot of us, this group is a lifeline, and for me, closer than my husband and children... I can open up and not feel selfish, or guilty, or afraid. I be myself, and that's it. Because I can relate to everyone else's experiences, You all are a lifeline for sure. I am so sorry for another family member gone. I certainly hope that he is peaceful now,
Pam
