There is no reason to think
There is no reason to think that you have prostate cancer, at this point. Relax. The psa could also be spiked by prostatitis, so it is not that accurate.
If the psa is high, then ask for a more accurate blood test like PHI or 4K Score, or the PCA3 urine test.
How old are you?

Be patient
Get the blood results first. The symptoms could be from other reasons than cancer. Be patient.

Kidney stones
Hi,
Take it from a kidney stone survivor, a lot of the symptoms that you describe are related to kidney stones, I had a few several years ago. Hope & pray that's all it is.

Ditto
Ditto on the above comments... A high PSA is typical of any prostate trauma, whether PC or chronic prostatitis or acute prostatitis etc. Other tests will have to pinpoint a diagnosis. But I particularly wanted to mention something... Don't sleep on your right side... Sleep on your LEFT side. There are several reasons for this that indicates the human body is made in this fashion. For example, your stomach is U shaped. When you sleep left, the Esophagus makes a line entering the top of the U shape. But when you sleep right, it is like the Greek letter Omega, and gravity spills acid into your esophagus, creating such problems as acid reflux, hiatal hernia, even Barrets Esophagus. This was a commonly known Ayurvedic principle once upon a time. Other left side benefits:
- the lymph system drains properly on left, is more constricted on right
- easier for heart to pump downhill
- supports healthy spleen function
- aids in circulation back to heart
- bile flows more freely
Please check this out and see if I am not right. I almost am thinking God designed the human body to sleep on the left side. I wish I had known this a long time ago. Not pertinent to this discussion, but pregnant women should also be sleeping left.

Sleep position
Hi,
When your sleeping how do you control what side you sleep on?

Left side
It takes some practice, but start out sleeping on left side. If one wakes up on right side, switch back to left. I know its a pain at first and takes some getting used to. One way i handle it is alter the way I sleep on left side, sometimes tilting upward a little, sometimes hugging my wifey, or a huggy pillow if she's asleep, etc.
I had an endoscopy after my RP because of hiatal hernia, gastritis, GERD, etc. Doctor wanted me to take Prilosec ad infinitum until I found out about left side sleeping. Made a huge difference at night. GERD can turn into Barrets Esophagus which is the precursor of Esophageal Cancer. With left side sleeping, an occasional Tums is adequate to handle GERD symptoms now.
Because of Esophageal cancer, this is a serious issue, and like I said I wish I had known about this a long time ago, and I wouldn't have incurred much of the damage I already have.

Did I miss something?
Hi all,
Did I miss something? What does sleeping on your left side have to do with Prostate cancer? I used to sleep on my left side all the time and ended up with advanced stage 3 Prostate Cancer. Am now and 3 1/2 year survivor and now sleep on my back, and sleep much better. I snore (according to my wife) but so does she. :-)
