ENDOMETRIAL BIOPSY

I HAD AN ULTRASOUND MY ENDOMETRIUM SHOULD HAVE MEASURED 4MM AND MEASURED 5MM- SO NOW THEY WANT ME TO GET A BIOPSY. I AM SCARED TO DEATH- I MEAN I HAVE LOST 5 POUNDS FROM WORRY. I HAVE HAD CHILDREN BUT C-SECTION- LABORED 18 HOURS AND MY CERVIX WOULDN'T DO A THING!!!!!!! WOULD IT BE WRONG FOR ME TO REQUEST A D&C INSTEAD OF GOING THROUGH THE ENDOMETRIAL BIOPSY- WHICH THE HORROR STORIES ON LINE ARE ENOUGH TO SCARE ANYONE- NOT JUST FOR THE PAIN REASON BUT FRON WHAT I READ I COULD END UP WITH ONE ANYWAY BECAUSE SOMETIMES THEY CAN'T GET THE TISSUE THAT THEY NEED - I AM SO SCARED- ALSO WOULD ANYONE KNOW IF I READ AT 5MM AND IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE 4MM DOES THAT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE STAGE THAT THE CANCER IS AT- IF I HAVE IT- WHICH I HAVE TOTALLY CONVINCED MYSELF I DO AND HAVEN'T SLEPT IN NIGHTS!!

rose, I am going to call you

rose, I am going to call you that, they are performing tests to see what is going on.  4mm - 5 mm - it doesn't mean cancer.

I would call the office and explain to them calmly all the problems you have and that you do not believe an endometrial biopsy is going to be possible.  That a D&C would be easier for everyone.  (I can tell you that my gyn wanted to do a endometrial biopsy on me and said, "forget it!" it was too hard and would have been too painful - and I had the D&C)

You need to see this as a fact finding mission only.  Again, take a breath, tell them your concerns and that you don't think the endometrial biopsy is the way to go.  Until they do the tests and figure out what is going on - you don't have cancer.  I wouldn't rush to that quite yet.  Again, try to take a breath.

    Endometrial Biopsy/D & C

I ended up having both at the same time because my cervix was in a very bad mood. It is worth keeping in mind that these are just tests and being set up for a test alone does not indicate a cancerous condition in an absolute fashion. Even if they conclude that you DO have cancer there is no point in giving in to panic. You can do this and you will be okay one way or another. I know you are scared...I was...like NTFC said...BREATHE...visualize beautiful peaceful things and try to remain focused on those things.

    I had similar experience. My

I had similar experience. My gynecologist couldn't really do the cirvical biopsy. I had the d+c instead. I too had c sections. Despite being induced with my first pregnancy, I never dialated at all and thus had a c section.
