PET scan results

in Uterine/Endometrial Cancer #1

Hello everyone. I am new to the site. Hope you are all doing well.

Does anyone know what this mean? We got this on a PET scan result after receiving a one-year treatment of chemeotherapy, radiotherapy and brachytherapy.  

"There is morpho-metabolic resolution of the solid lesion in the uterine cervix". 

Also, do you know what pseudo nodular lesions are?

    Just wanted to welcome you to this little,club that no one wants to belong to.  You have found a good group of ladies here that have much information and compassion to offe.  I am sorry that I don't have any answers for you, but someone should be along to help you soon.  The only thing that I can say is that I think that pseudo means false.

    I tried looking up those terms on Google (as I'm sure you did, too) but couldn't find much.

    As far as PET scan results go, the rate of the metabolism (or "SUV") of the radioactive glucose (the "F-18-FDG") they inject seems to be the main indicator.

    For instance, the last one I had indicated an SUV of 3.2 for the mass in my chest that they are monitoring. Compared to the "normal" SUV of 0.9 or less for that area, they've decided to keep monitoring it.

    If your report indicates an SUV rate, you may be able to compare it to a "normal" rate for that area. Of course, your doctor should go over that report with you so that you understand the results and can help advise you in making any necessary decisions for treatment.

    deb_10, I can't tell if you got this in advance of a visit with a gyn onc or not.  It is definitely a great question for the doc and I would ask if you would come back and please let us know.
