Internal stitches popping out
Hi, I am new to this forum. I have had many surgeries over the last 43 years. In 2010 I had a partial nephrectomy to remove renal cell carcinoma. Labs were clear/clean edges. Jan 16th of this year I had another partial nephrectomy on my other kidney. This one was done with the robotic arm. Labs did not have clear edges. The problem is that all the incisions are lumpy and I have some internal stitches popping up. One area has an intense itch. The internal stitch actually looks like fishing line and I just wondered how they dissolve? I pulled a little bit on it and it is still attached undeneath my skin. Just curious if anyone else has had this problem. My other incisions from previous surgeries are smooth.

Gosh two renal surgeries?
Gosh two renal surgeries? That is enuff!
Now I remember seeing the tops of the internal stitches and it does dissolve. Itching usually means healing, unless its reddish or tender, is it? These little incisions not only will smooth out, they will be nearly undiscernable.
Have you had your post surgery check up yet? Any questions you can call your surgeon's office.
Let us know how you are doing hon.
Sending you a gentle hug, Jan
