edited January 2017 in Kidney Cancer #1

My Kidney Cancer had previously expanded to Stage 4 and spread to the bone in my right humerous. I had to have a titanium rod placed in that arm because I broke the arm and it was very unstable. Well jump forward 2-3 years and right above the rod the bone cancer came back and today I was doing some work around the house and POP I fractured it again. Pain yes. Discomfort yes. Going to have to make a few phone calls to various doctors to figure out my next steps. ANy suggestions on how I can make my bones stronger and cncer free.

No suggestion just an I'm so

No suggestion just an I'm so very sorry you're going through this. I'm sure your physicians will come up with a plan. Not sure it would work or even be appropriate but perhaps the meds they give for osteoporosis would help to make bone stronger? Have you contacted your doctor?

    dancnbear,

are you getting zometa? It must be saving me from alot of fractures. I have or had mets in all limbs, spine and ribs. Radiation has helped immensely also.

    Doesn't look like dancnbear

Doesn't look like dancnbear has checked back in, but yeah, Zometa, like foxhd said.

I get it monthly. Plenty of bone mets, but no fractures yet (knock on wood).

How is the Zometa given, shots, IV, or pill form?

    Thank you all for your

Thank you all for your feedback and sorry for not getting back sooner. Unfortunately I have just completed a round of surgery to remove some large "spots" that were on the inside of my left elbow and on the back of my neck. I am also in the process of going through another round of radiation to attack the bone cancer in my right arm/shoulder and a large "Spot" that is in my left hip and close to pressing on a nerve. This plus trying to keep my full time job going has kept me rather busy so I dont check in as often as I like. Again, I thank you you all for your support and knowledge.

    Attitude

Dancn:  I love your attitude--rather nonchalant.  Your calmness comes across in your post.  Us newbies have heard this numerous times from our veterans, but it is still difficult to do.  I'm working at it, but I can't lie...the fear of cancer still creeps in to my mind from time to time.  I'm hopeful the treatments work for you.

    Blessings
