PEG feeding options such as juicing
What type of nutritional products do people here use with their PEG system?
Does anyone supplement with juicing or blendin?
What type of nutrition/food has helped you the most?
This seems to be the part of my stage 3 SCC HPV Treatment that has me worried way what the radiation and cisplatin will do.

PEG
RW,
Pretty much if you can blend it, you can PEG it.
Often times during treatment you may not feel like preparing a PEG serving and may choose to use a premade serving such as Jevity. Now you may have someone caring for you and it may not be a big deal. BUT, there is a lot to be said for convenience during feeding.
Some people remain on a PEG for a while and have more time on their hands to develop recipes for the PEG, once treatments are completed.
If you choose to not have a PEG, you need to consume 3k calories a day by solid or liquid means.
There are many arguments on here about having a PEG or not, but you do whatever feels right to you.
I had 2 PEG’s. One bad and one very good. I always drank at least one meal a day and had the PEG popped at 2 weeks post.

my wonderful wife is already researching options. She has gotten a juicer machine and plans on lots of organic treats for me. If I can't swallow and taste them it seems like a wasted treat, but I have done juice cleansings in the past and I felt awesome!

This is what i did
I started juicing about 6 weeks before treatment. I have continued juicing 11 months after my last treatment. I juiced about 8 lbs a day (5 lbs of carrots, 2 bunches of celery, large granny smith apple, bit of ginger and ¼ - ½ a beet). This I believe helped my body battle and as an added bonus really felt good on my throat. Between the goodness it gave me the cold juice really felt good on my radiation ravaged throat. I also opted for liquid hope, which is a whole food feeding tube formula. It was started by a lady. Her father had a brain injury and was on a feeding tube. She couldn’t find a peg tube formula that wasn’t full of sugar like ensure or a multiple of others that doctors regrettably insist patients use. She’s a professional chef working with organic whole foods and figured out a formula that would not only address the brain injury but also his other secondary complications it has filtered water, organic garbanzo beans, organic green peas. Organic carrots. Organic whole grain brown rice, organic whole grain brown rice protein, organic flax oil, organic sprouted quinoa, organic sweet potato, vitamin blend, organic broccoli, organic almond butter, organic kale, organic garlic, organic tumeric, organic rosemary, organic ginger and organic wakame. Anyway just my thoughts but both of these were a tremendous help during treatment and recovery.

this will be a big help. I definirely don't want to push sugar into my body during this process.
i found some organic vegatable protein drink powder that contains no sugar or other sweetener.
hopefully I will find more.
