Condyloma with high grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (AIN 2 and 3)
I'm so scared that I have a recurrence.
Any words of advice or encouragement are appreciated. The surgeon wants to do another exam in six months.
It's been four years...does it really ever go away?

It's been awhile since you've been here and I'm sorry that something like that has brought you back. Has your surgeon even considered removal of the condyloma? The reason I ask is because I had 3 small condylomas surgically removed by my CR doctor back in 2010, just 2 years post-treatment. Fortunately for me, they tested negative for any cancer cells. I think there is always a concern of healing complications, but I'm happy to say that I had none. I would definitely ask if excision is an option. If you are not satified with the answer you get, consider getting a second opinion. That would be my recommendation. I wish you all the best as you deal with this new issue.

Thank you Martha. I just receive the news today and will ask about the suggestions you make.
I hope you are doing well. I'm always grateful for the support you give. I am touched.0 -
I've had AIN 3 for 5 years
I've had AIN 3 for 5 years now, I've had it surgically removed twice (the recovery was honestly no big deal) and I have it monitored every 6 months. In my experience it never really goes away and must always be monitored, but that doesn't mean it will always turn into cancer.
