Tuesday Jan 3rd going in again to have two more RCC lung mets removed, a 5mm and 6mm in the upper left lobe left lung this time (wedge resections again), traditional lateral thoracotmy. It seems my surgeon likes to get his hands dirty and feel  the lung while he has it deflated outside the rib cage and make sure there are not any mets that were to small to show up on the CT scans. Im really lucky they keep telling me, since they find them small and keep cutting them out, keeping me off any cancer drugs. At least I know exactly what to expect this time, and on the positive side Im off work for a few weeks, and maybe longer if I can find a DR to fill out the RFC form for me for SSDI.  My 3 Drs keep telling me Im too healthy for SSDI , Im glad to know Im so healthy and Im going to try to remember how healthy and lucky I am when I wake up in CVICU Tuesday. Thank God for Xanax and medical edible pot, it works wonders.

    SSDI

As to social security disability income, I thought that you automatically qualified if the cancer reappeared in a location which is distant from the kidney.  I think that is what you're referring to when you discuss SSDI.  You should check it out further.  Try the social security people at your local office.

Enjoy your chemo-free years.  I envy you being off of any drug.

    Here is to your success

I am hoping for a successful surgery for you and that all of your pain is minimal.  I am curious I know you are trying to avoid the meds, but aren't you concerned about having multiple surgeries to keep ahead of the mets?  It seems like you could only operate on the lungs so much before that option is out.

Dutch there is the SSDI 3

Dutch there is the SSDI 3 year rule, that says if you go 3 years ned that your considered cured, I went from 2011 to 2016  being ned, so that disqualified me for the distand spread condition. Im not sure yet as to where I stand now having recurrance in Jan 16 and Dec 16, but Im going to find out after the surgery.

mr, I have no idea how many

mr, I have no idea how many lung wedge resections a person can have, this will be the 1st ones on my left lung. As far as meds go, Id sooner have surgery and suffer for a couple of weeks than be on meds and deal with side effects for ever. When they took out my left kidney in 2011 I was back at work in 2 weeks, when they did the wedge resections on my right lung in April of 2016 I also re turned to work in 2 weeks. Both times I never took a pain pill after day 3 in the hospital,  not that it doesnt hurt, but I always get sick big time everytime I take any kind of pain meds.

    SSDI

I applied two years ago after I was told I had Stage IV and Interlukin did not work and was put on Sutent.  I did it all online and gave all dates of scans and doctors names.  I received my first check within 4 weeks.  I was told I had a fast track illness.  Glad I got it so quickly but also kind of scaredme at the time.

    Great

Glad things went well, here is to a fast recovery, and a long break from a return (say 40 years at least).
