HELP.

My husband was diagnosed with mouth cancer in July.  He has a feeding tube and this is still his main source of nutrition.  We are almost out of Jevity, and the insurance says it will not give us any more.

Does anyone have any left overs?  I'm happy to reimburse for shipping.

Thank you

    Has your doctor or

Has your doctor or nutritionist contacted or written a letter to the insurance company?

My husband didn't use Jevity, but we donated his extra formula to the nutritionist so she could give it out in situations like this. Do you have a nutritionist that could help?

    Fingers crossed!

    Home health care

Took back Jim's unused for just this purpose: people who needed a little help. Ask them.

Also, I would contact my local American Cancer Society.

    Thank you for the replies.

    Thank you for the replies.

I have talked with the people at the hospital, nutritionist included.  No luck.  The Dr is impossible to get ahold of, and doesn't say anything about the fact that my husband has lost so much wait, and is continuing to lose.

We are in the process of switching insurance and doctors, but in the interim was looking for some leftovers.  I have put calls into some other agencies, but this site was suggested by someone in our support group!

    Greatly appreciate your input.

    feeding tube nutrition

When I was having difficulties with this same issue, I contacted the product manufacturer.  Abbott  had an insurance specialist in house who told me how to get Medicare to pay for products and the name of a local distributor that helped doctor get necessary info to insurance company.  It looks like they make Jevity as well.  Maybe they can help you as well

    HELP

I am a Trustte on a pension and health and welfare fund. I would get a note from the doctor stating it is medically neccessary and request an emergency appeal. I have overruled the funds decision in many cases.

    Oley Foundation

We just donated all our leftover formula to someone through the Oley Foundation. The organization helps connect donors with those in need of enteral formula and tube feeding supplies on their website. The arrangements are usually fairly easy to make. The person who contacted me paid for shipping and mailed me address labels and I dropped off the cases at a local UPS. Shipping is expensive, as it it based on the weight of the boxes.

We still have lots of syringes and bags that are new. Our insurance company sent us an overabundance of supplies at one point. I'd be happy to mail those to you if you pay shipping.

Here is the site - it's worth checking out:

    Best of luck to you!
