horrible anxiety
I am eight years past my cancer fight , but I am still on letrozole . I had some blood work done at my GP . They called today and said to call the office tomorrow. It may not be anything , but my anxiety even after all these years , just overwhelm me . Can anyone tell me how to cope with this ? It just overwhelms me until tomorrow when I find out .

I have certainly never stood in your shoes so feel free to ignore any of my advice. But I will try. Anxiety is a normal reaction to something like this. Anyone would be nervous. That said - anxiety is not intutition (even if it feels that way!). Maybe simply try to accept that this is a time in your life when you will feel anxiety until you find out the results. Focus on how far you have come & good luck!

I can relate
I used to be a worrier and would spend so much time thinking about things that never ended up happening. I remember once I was sure something was wrong during a CT scan because a couple of the technicians were called over to look at the screen during my test. It came out fine! I have a whole round of tests coming up this week and I haven't been tested for a full year. So yeah, I'm concerned and it will be a relief when it's over, but I'm not going to ruin my week with worry. It won't change anything anyway, right? Anyway, I hope your blood work comes back clear! Keep strong....

Been there...done that
Does it help to know that the nerves are normal and that we all go thru it. You've already been given great advice but I would add, try to distract yourself while waiting for the results of tests. I also am going for testing this week and will be nervous on the day and waiting for the results, but now I try to accept it as all part of the process and don't beat myself up for being anxious. Also, as far as distraction goes, the day after my test, I leave the house (I don't work) so I'm not sitting around and jumping everytime the phone rings . I go shopping, treat myself to lunch and maybe even a matinee, all to take my mind off it. By the 3rd or 4th day the anxiety is lessening a bit. Oh and lots and lots of prayer. I agree with button2 that worrying that something might be wrong before you know something is, is just ruining your mood and a waste of a good day. I always say (AND EASIER SAID THAN DONE I KNOW) until I hear further, I'm healthy.
1stTimeStage2, I love how you said "anxiety is not intuition", because we've all had that feeling like I just know something is wrong. But it's just worry.
And when you're really freaking out, take action, call the dr's office and tell them you need the results. Sometimes that works and you can put your mind at ease.

It is ok
A major life changing medical illness fell on you. To not get a little worried and anxious would be abnormal. It's ok to feel anxious. It's ok to cry. I ask my doc for Lexapro low dose and it helps me. Take one at night before I go to bed. You can still think and function with it. It just helps you absorb and not panic. Something to think about. Mainly, I give it to God and I ask for His peace in it all. I know that I know, He is carrying me. I have a long way to go but I know He is not going anywhere. HUGS

Its great to see a therapist and work out any issues you may have. Also I feel happier being busy. After such a scary ordeal as cancer, you see things differently and know that you should use your time on this earth wisely. Try to do some fun things that you never seemed to have time for before. Things like gardening (even just potted plants) or nature walking are very calming. Each day is a gift! Congrats on being cancer free
