digestion after esophogectomy
Wanted to share some info...
My father had esophogectomy about 18 months ago. He has been doing remarkably well being able to return a normal diet, however he was often suffering from a lot of stomach pain and gas after meals. It was difficult to pinpoint what food or foods where causing problems. I found on another message board that someone had success with digestive enzymes. I bought these for him (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009EXOTQ/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&th=1). He showed them to his GI doctor before starting them and the GI doctor said they would be good to try. Its only been a few days, but no stomach pain or indigestion since he started taking these with meals.

Glad to Hear Your News
Hello,
Digestive issues come up frequently, as you are aware. I'm glad you are finding success with an OTC medicine. There are prescription ones available (Creon, Zenpep, etc...) if your father stops getting the desired response from his OTC one.
Wishing Continued Success,
Ed

thanks for the info Ed! Its a shame the dr. didnt suggest enzymes. They could have helped sooner! Good to know there are prescriptions available if this doesnt do the trick.
