1st Follow up scan

Finally, I have completed my first Ultrasound scan and chest X-Ray (no blood work for some reason...). Can't believe it has been three months already. I finally understand what is scanxiety when the radiologist starts making measurement of my kidney and from different angles. I keep wondering what he was measuring and what is that thing that measured 1.5 x 2 cm  ... :) I believe he's just making some baseline measurements of the kidney (hopefully it is) but it is still worrysome before seeing the actually report. Good luck to those who is waiting for their report as well!

    Doctor

Carmen--did you meet with your doctor after all the scans were complete?  I have my first scans tomorrow with an appointment with my doctor to end the day.  I can't imagine waiting a few days to meet with the doctor or waiting for a report of the scans.  Hope it all works out for you.

    Thank you, but not yet

I am in Canada, and radiologists will not tell us anything and we have to wait untill seeing the urologist for the results. My appointment is Thursaday and is currently crossing my finger at the moment :) I see that you are stage one too, I am sure everything will works out for you as well.

P.s. I recalled another member ask about follow up schedule and I find a guideline online:

Follow-up guidelines after radical or partial nephrectomy for localized and locally advanced renal cell carcinoma

    It'd be interesting...

...To see if anything has been published recently.  These were from February 2009 (although it takes a while to get anything written / approved, accepted for publication, in print, etc).

    Thanks for sharing, though!

    Keeping my fingers crossed

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!! Do not like the waiting game, either! I just had my scan last Friday, and don't go to see my oncologist til december 15th.

    Hugs

Thank you all for the support and sharing your knowledge. Just got my first visit from uncle NED. The moment I was told everything is normal, that feeling was great :)

It is the best present from Uncle NED, wish all of you a healthy holiday season.
