Take a mask and gloves!
We have much to be thankful for! I am almost a year and a half out, but I still take masks with me and wear cotton gloves if I am going to greet people. You have had enough colds and flu. Time for others to bear that burden. May you and yours enjoy a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving!

Perfect
Sounds like the perfect setting for Turkey Day Sal.
My grandfather was a Kansas wheat farmer out in the western part of the state, but had cows and chickens also. Cows are so gentle, being among them is soothing and restorative for many people. Being close to nature in general has this effect.

cows
My husband has relatives in Wisc and several of them are/were farmers. The first time he took me there we stopped by the farm of his favorite aunt & uncle. When it was milking time we were expected to help with milking. My husband used to spend his summers there. I had never milked a cow so they showed me how to wash the udder before they put the pump on. Just as I got used to that his aunt told me "don't forget the cow at the end of the row". I looked to where she indicated and then asked her "you mean that bull?". They loved to play practical jokes and figured a city kid would not know the difference between a cow & a bull.

Moo
Once upon a time when I was living in Paris, a friend of mine took me for a three hour drive to the to the French countryside. It was there we drove down and incredibly small road to a little farm. Do I dare say Linda I did the same. Only just now did I remember this part of my history. It was slow, peaceful and almost a surreal experience. Healing and heavenly it was. Thank you for this visit down memory lane. I totally forgot about this and it gives be a bit of pleasure when I feel rather off.
Blessings to all...

Geeze... cows, yes, are ordinarily very gentle, but bulls: NO !
I went in to an old country gas station in the 60s, as a kid, around 6:00 AM. A group of old, retired-looking farmers were hanging out, waiting for daylight. I walked to the counter to pay for a pint of chocolate milk, and said in jest, "I'll have this kind, that comes from a brown cow."
One of the old guys said, "You city kids are so damn dumb ! All cows give white milk !"
I apologized and slithered out....

EXTRA Happy !lindary said:memory
That is why I love ready about the experiences and stories of others. Doesn't matter if it is cancer related or just part of their past. It seems they often can spark the memory of something I haven't thought about in a long time.
A farm not too far from me.....
Reportedly, none of their cows has ever got depressed ! If cows can be happy, so can we.

More Bloody Cow business!
This time Max sparked the memory. A few years ago I was in Germany. On the day we booked a bike ride in Bavaria, the rain came in. Not a drizzle, absolute downpour. We could have stayed dry and warm hotel room but no an eight hour bike ride in the cold poring rain seemed more fun.
Soaked head to toe in the middle of Bavaria I trecked past a herd of cattle. My 11 year old daughter was with me and we had a hard time keeping up. We were the very last bikers, far from the others but they still were in eye site. I recall looking down at my jeans and sneakers, they gushed water out with every rotation and I burst out laughing. Feeling goofy I decided to Moo at the cows, of course my daughter was mortified but I was determined to have fun. Well apparently Bavarian Bulls don't take to kindly to American Cow Impersonators. Bloody Hell the darn thing charged at me! My poor daughter was scared and truth be told I was too. I prayed the fence would stop him! We started peddling so fast our clothes could have dried! Well if that wasn't enough the entire group who was ahead of us was watching the entire act go down and had a bit of a laugh (except for the guide he was not happy) at our expense.
Thank you both! I really need that. So consumed with everything, I forgot the good stuff.
Keeping Happy might be the best medicine!
