Happy Thanksgiving and a little blessing to share...
Hello Ladies! First Happy Thanksgiving!! I am currently surrounded by my three married kids and seven grandchildren and it is chaos central, but truly wonderful. Since I last checked in with the dire prognosis from my gyn/onc, my naturopathic oncologist has weighed in ("He is not a psychic! Those are just statistics!! You are exceptional, and very healthy. Stay grounded!), and my gyn/surgeon agreed to read my scan/file and stated that she did not see anything "dire", or anything that was likely to be problematic in the short term. (Deep breath!!) My onc wanted me to go on paclitaxel, which has already failed once and it is absolutely clear that I am chemo resistant. I have decided not to go down that path. My surgeon has suggested mTor inhibitors, and immunotherapy as possible future options, but at least for the short term I have decided to take a couple months to work with my naturopath to strengthen my own immune system and see if we can establish some stability naturally. She has set me up with a local clinic to receive high dose VitC and high dose Curcumin infusions, and has put me on a higher strength mistetoe injection. We are also doing low dose naltrexone. That should take me through the first of the year when I would be do for additional testing anyway, and we will see where that takes me. For now I continue to feel fine except that I walk ALOT and have some lower spine degeneration (normal for my age they say) that kicks in, but so far it doesn't require anything but ibuprophen and an occasional heating pad. Life is good. Hoping you are all having a wonderful Thanksgiving. You are all blessings in my life. Hugs! - Helen
