This artical tells the story of a leading edge researcher pioneering new and innovative cancer immune therapy cancer treatments. Definitely worth the read.

    Thanks, Phil

Great article.  Thank goodness for  determined researchers like Dr. Allison, who doggedly carry on  research for years despite  setbacks and failures before finally scoring a victory against these relentless cancer cells. I was surprised to learn that the idea of employing the body's immune defenses to fight cancer dates back to the 1890s.  This new immunotherapy research sounds so very promising. How wonderful it would be if immunotherapy is  found to be effective against all forms of cancer and to to learn that we are, at long last,  on the brink of finding an actual "cure' for cancer.

Immunotherapy sounds like a cure for many

    Phil,

I read about Dr Allision before but never heard about the immunotherapy from the 1890's.  I would love to get in a trial for colon cancer patients and will let you all know if I make it into one.  I believe part of the new focus on the Moonshots program is that the clinical treatments are supposed to be made available nationwide so more patients can benefit from them.

    Adverse effects
Ipilimumab treatment has been associated with severe and potentially fatal immunological adverse effects due to T cell activation and proliferation; these occur in 10-20% of people and are a major drawback of this drug. Most of the serious adverse effects are associated with the gastro-intestinal tract; they include stomach pain, bloating, constipation or diarrhea, but also fever, breathing or urinating problems. A "risk evaluation and mitigation strategy" informs prescribers of the potential risks. Individual cases of severe neurologic disorders following ipilimumab have been observed, including acute inflammatory demyelination polyneuropathy and an ascending motor paralysis, and myasthenia gravis.

We all have a multitude of choices and options to the current "mainstream" cancer remedies. Some of the "options" are 99% safer, have proven results, and are very inexpensive. You have to look for them if you want to find them; the information is closer than you think.

Remember, Cancer recurs. Sooner or later, cancer returns to let us know that that it's only been "resting" and now, it's hungry for change. It does not matter what "remedy" you use. Your body is allowing a badly damaged or dead cell to remain inside you, and that damaged, dead, or dying cell may begin using "the fermentation" process to survive... that's how a cancer cell comes to be called a cancer cell. It's just simply a good cell that's been damaged so severely, that it can no longer "hear" the body's instructions. Continuing to stay alive by the fermentation process (eats glucose without restraint; output is lactic acid that is converted back into glucose by the liver). The fact seems to be overlooked, that the body creates the damaged/dying/dead cells 24/7/365 as part of it's healing and growing process. Any one of those cells can become a cancer cell if not removed from the body as quickly as possible.

You choice for treatment should never be made driven by fear. If you've been diagnosed with cancer, try to relax and take your time. Do not jump into any therapy immediately. It took time for that tumor to grow; it normally continues to grow at the same pace unless something changes the condition it was growing under, like a harsh chemical, or something that stifles the immune system.....

Take your time. Read and explore the options available. Using a "remedy" regardless how "mainstream", that may leave you with permanent debilitating neurological or other health problems, is not in your best interests.

Listen to that "inner voice", your intuition.... Your inherent and gifted sense of survival will show you the way.... No physician or well-meaning pal can tell you more about -you- than your own inner self.

You have options and choices. Weigh them all out, and "listen to thyself".

And if you feel cancer is terminal and must be attacked and wiped away totally, talk to "PhillieG", whose oncological team has been treating it like a chronic disease for over 12 years.

You should want to use any available energy to fight the cancer, not waste the energy fighting the "treatment", or wasting the energy trying to raise enough funds to pay for that "treatment"....

Cancer takes it's toll on each of us, one way or another. It's important to stay calm and not allow fear to guide you. The toll you pay will be less if you take the right roads....

My best wishes to all here....
