Cyst around impacted wisdom teeth
Tooth pain drove me to see the dentist. Both remaining wisdom teeth on lower jaw have medium size cysts surrounding them. Referred to oral surgeon and gave a copy of the xray at my oncologists office Friday, waiting to hear from her regarding next steps. Assume I will stop Afinitor in order to have oral surgery with a pathology report to follow on the cyst.
I am almost three months in on my new meds, 10mg Afinitor daily. I assume we will be having an CT scan to determine if the Afinitor is working unless the cysts' prove to be more than it appears. I have a trip planned next week to MI to visit my daugher and son inlaw and see their new home. I hate waiting for Doctors to get around to giving us direction. I selfishly wish it was not just a job for them, just like mine is to me.
Has anyone had a similar experience?

Thanks Jan
Thanks for the support Jan. CT and MRI after vacation showed the cysts to be benign with no uptake of contrast, YAY! Also the afinitor seems to be working as my largest 13mm nodule is not mentioned while a 2mm has grown to 4mm, and a 5mm to 8mm. Seems that the nodules are ever chaging between around 10mm to 5mm, which leads me to believe what I have been told, the scan reading is very subjective. All in all I am a very happy camper (no pun intended Fox). Now some oral surgery to remove the impacted wisdom teeth, no big deal for us post nephrectomy folks.

Update
Oral surgery to remove the impacted wisdom teeth could not have gone better. They pulled right out (relative term as it felt like someone stood on my chest and pulled my lip and tongue dowm to my belt buckle to gain access to pull the teeth). Bone fragments were placed in the voids of the cysts to promote new bone growth. Test show that neither cyst is RCC mets!! Yay!
Subsequent CT of chest and abdomen show now new growth in my lungs and stability on the 13mm node which is the largest. I am on 10mg Afinitor but have been taking it one week on, one week off due to ulcers it causes in my mouth.
Praying for eveyone and myself daily. What a long strange trip its been.

Glad to hear your oral surgery went well, although that sounds traumatic. Haha.
Did you mean your CT showed no new growth, I hope.
Praying for you too.
Donna~
