Update, back home after surgery.

Made it home after total abdominal hysterectomy on Friday.  According to my fiance, my dr told him after the 5 1\2 hrs of surgery she got all the bad stuff out.  Took uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes, ovaries, omentum, and lymph nodes. One lymph was pretty bad but the other wasn't.  No problem getting lymph nodes out, which she was concerned about.  From what my fiance said my dr was surprised and happy it went so well.  Apparently their was a mass where it connects my small intestine and bowel.  She had the bowel surgeon come in to remove it and he said it looks benign.  My dr said it looked benign to her as well but it was sent to lab to be sure.  Now waiting on path report so I'm trying not to get terrified because I know God is with me and he has taken wonderful care of me.  Thank u so much for all the prayers and encouragement!!  Maryanne

    Step one done!

So good to hear from you! You've got a big step in your overall treatment behind you now, so focus on recovery while you let them do their thing on your pathology. Both take a bit of time, so focus on what you have some control over.

Glad to hear it, now go rest!

Maryann, so very glad to hear that the surgery went well, now go and rest! Your body just went through a very traumatic change and needs time to heal and adjust. Try not to waste your precious energy worrying about the pathology report. You and your medical team will come up with a plan to deal with whatever the outcome may be. Wishing you strength and peace, Kim

    Congrats that the surgery

Congrats that the surgery went well and that you made it back home.  I was saying prayers for you and the dr on Friday morning.  Glad to know that the surgery is over.  Next step to heal up some.  Do not think about the report and concentrate on healing for now.  When do you have to travel back to Dallas?

    Slow and steady now

Maryanne, good news that all went well in surgery.  I concur with others, rest your body and ease your mind.  Try not to fret about what might or might not be...easier said than done.  Sounds like you are in good hands both physically and spiritually.

Up and walking a little each day helped me get my body functions back in order.  Hydration is a must.  Sending big hugs for your steady recovery.   ~~LL

    More good news

Hi Maryanne I am new but plan on being around a long time.  Best wishes as you recover from your surgery- mine was long also but I think I recovered pretty quickly and I did get out walking as soon as I could and drink a LOT of water each and every day.  Prayers for healing and for your mind as you wait- it is hard- I'm in a holding pattern while a tumor board decides if I was staged incorrectly and what the next step will be but I am staying hopeful and thankful ((((HUGS))))
