    Someone?

That someone must have been really tiny...

"I am scheduled to take a Colonoscopy because they want to rule out someone they saw..." Haha. Sorry. I couldn't resist.

    Todd

    Explanation?

They mean a little chap called Colin who goes around making trouble. They can only find him with a Colinoscopy. I myself know a troublesome Colin who should be removed from anywhere where he could cause damage..

    Fast hospital visit

I had a 7.1 cm (largest dimension) located in the middle of my left kidney. My doctor had a lot t of experience and was well regarded. He suggested a full removal and I agreed. Just wanted to get it out as soon as possible. Had the robotic surgery,  four small incisions and one about 3 in. long at my belt line. Was in the hospital less than 24 hours. The worst part was the pain from the gas they use to inflate you like a ballon so that they have room to get all of the gadgets in while doing the surgery.  But that went away after the first day. Took me about 3 weeks to recover enough to get back to work, and a few weeks after that to feel close to 100%.

    Thank you all for your

Thank you all for your responses. It helps hearing about other parties experiences. I'm in the process of getting approval for a second opinion (I have an HMO). I am sure they will take my entire right kidney out along with the tumor. I just hope I can see another doctor for a second opinion within a reasonable time.

    Thanx again,

    Iggy

    nephrectomy

When my husband had his surgery last month it was an open full removal of  kidney and veins and resection of vena cava. He went to work on week 3. Full stitch line and all! It is all your attitude! They want you up and walking , alot!!  When all is said and done then we found a rcc specialist . The surgeon who did surgery was a kidney surgeon and a cardio thorasic for the vein portion. Oncologists who specialize in in kidney cancer are called gernitourinary oncologists.  Sooner is better in our case by the way. Good luck

    Hi Iggy

Best of luck to you Iggy. I believe all will be fine for you if you take good care of your health after the removal of your kidney. It took a couple months for me to recover. After removal of my right kidney in 2005 I was in remission for 9 years. Prayers for you.

    Iggy

My wife Holly had this surgery 4 years ago and she recovered very quickly.  The scar is very minimal on her.  Like others on this board have said, it really is a pretty straightforward procedure.

The human body is pretty amazing.  My wife's other kidney basically just took over and now does the work of both without any real side effects.

    Good luck on this.
