I guess everything is ok so far.  There is some kind on white patch on the roof of my mouth that he wants to look at in a month.  He said I will always be at risk for oral and throat cancer because of smoking.  I felt a little scared after I left there and a little depressed.  He pretty much said that this is the price I pay and I guess he's right.

I have to give speech therapy a chance because he said in time my tongue might improve.  He doesn't recomment surgery right now.

I feel a little down now.  Frown

    Hello Tonita,

    Hello Tonita,

Don't take American MD's seriously about smoking. 95% of them blame everything on smoking without knowing enoough about smoking. Foer them it does not matter if you smoked 1 cigarrette a day or 1 pack per day. My own medical oncologist told me my BOT cancer is most possibly due to my smoking and the results of the biopsy will show that I am HPV-. He was pleasantly surprised when the results came in HPV+.

Western European MD's use their brain more often and do recognize how many cigs/day, type of cig (Carlton or Lucky Strike), etc...

I am not saying cigs are good, they are bad for you, but not the fatal poison American MD's make it. I hope you keep your positive attitude & forget about unconstructive comment you MD made.
