A (Boring) Update for You All
Been awhile but i've been thinking about you all just the same. Had my baseline CT with/without contrast in August, 7 mos after right partial (open) nephrectomy involving 4cm RCC tumor, T1a N0 M0, Furhman grade 3. My jack of all trades urologist said 'no worrisome results' which i'm going to claim as a visit from Uncle NED (my first!) but he did say there was a small cyst on my liver that we were 'just going to watch.' I'm scheduled for alternating CT and ultrasound every 6 months from here on out for the kidney cancer, and I assume the liver cyst will be looked at as well. I hope this will encourage some of you, so I've sent NED packing hoping he will give you all some well deserved good news. Any feedback from you all is always welcome. I'm thankful to be here, and wishing you all well.
Regards,
Jay

I'm sorry
But that is the least boring post. NED is good and well worth celebrating. Well done!

thanks - that helps!stub1969 said:Good news!
This is good news--congratulations. In my original scans I have two cysts in my liver. Doctors weren't at all concerned--they actually kind of dismissed it. I've read about others that have cysts on their liver. Seems like it is pretty common.

Yup, I had a scan that showed a cyst-ish object in my liver. They told me it was either (1) no biggie or (2) an artifact on the film. Fortunately it wasn't the second, because my insurance didn't cover referrals to archaeologists.
Good news, either way (and not the least bit boring).

Happy for you
Sounds like you are doing great. I know I was a stage 1, but I don't know the other figures. Will have to ask my doctor.
take care!

I will take that kind of news any day and as much of it as anyone wants to share! Great news!

We love boring
Glad you got that kind of news. RE: Cysts. Other than have a mets to Left lobe, with the lobe remove during initial surgery, the surgeon also removed and had biopsied several wedges with what turned out to be just benign systs-that was 2006. I still have a benign cyst in the R. lobe that hasn't grown; a cyst in the pancreas that actually shrank about 2 mm in each dimension, a a cyst in the remaining kidney.
And what is amazing is that probably everyone has cysts somewhere in the body, but they don't know it until something like cancer or another reason comes along to administer tests.
Keep up the good and boring news.
