Green Smoothie
A bit off topic, but I have been looking for a really tasty green smoothie recipe to incorporate into my diet. Maybe it's just me, but most of them I can just barely choke down. I do combine some greens with berries and other fruit, but I'd love to find a true green smoothie that I like. Anybody got a favorite recipe they can share?

Here's ours..
This makes enough for two because my husband drinks them too... you can cut it half for one...
1 c ice cubes
1 cup water, or unsweetened almond milk
1-3 kale leaves broken into small pieces w/stalk removed
1/2 cucumber unpeeled cut up
1 apple, peeled and cut into chunks
(also add a 1/2 banana OR 1/4-1/2 c blueberries ore strawberries, OR some cut up cantelope)
a little fresh, cut up ginger
dash of cinammon
I also add a scoop of Vega Vanilla Protein powder and an envelope of Orac-Energy Greens but this is optional.

smoothie recipe
This makes 2 smoothies. I drink one and save second for the next day.
half lb. berries(I use black raspberries preground in vitamix 5 minutes so seeds are crushed)
two thirds of an avocado
cinammon to taste
3 apple cores w seeds intact
one half purple carrot cut in thin slices
mint leaves
kale leaves with stems included (or other greens)
half of an organic lemon cut into little pieces (peel, pits and all)
flaxseed
green tea powder
raw cacao powder
one quarter tsp liquid natures answer stevia
piece of raw turmeric root if you can find it
water
I have been drinking this since end of treatment in Feb 2011. I am now 5 and a half years in remission from UPSC stage 4B grade 3 with
widespread lymph involvement. Could it be helping? Who knows?

Yuck
I love most of the ingredients in these smoothies, but I have yet to acquire a taste for green smoothies. But I love kale (really) and most of the ingredients individually. Do you think the ingredients really have to be blended? They sound good and healthy regardless.

Like you, I've yet to find a green smoothie I really like. That's why I started the thread. I do eat a lot of greens, chard, kale, etc. and always have a huge mixed salad with dinner, but I've read so much about the benefits of green smoothies, I'd like to find one that I can put in my rotation with my other non-green ones.

my smoothie tastes really good despite the diversity of the ingredients. I would not be able to drink it
for so many years if it didn't. I am sure the other smoothies taste good too because a blender can really combine
things in new and interesting ways if we are just willing to experiment.
