I'm a survivor of mucinous adenocarcinoma of the appendixPaso Fino said:Hi,
I was diagnosed in mid-November 2012 when I had an appendectomy. Now awaiting a right hemicolectomy in early February. I've collected a number of primary research papers on the disease.
You must see an appendix cancer speciailist - you probably should have some kind of Intra Peritoneal chemo or HIPEC. If your surgeon is not a specialist in Appendix Cancer, then delay your surgery, and get to a specialist. I'm a success story, at almost 6 years since diagnosis with metastatic cancer. (See my blog: http://csn.cancer.org/node/188600 and click on my name "abrub" next to my avatar to get my basic story.)

I'm willing to share any information
I have stage 4 mucinous adenocarcinoma that originated in my appendix. I had debulking surgery, HIPEC and 7 months of chemo. All is going well and I have returned to a pretty normal level of wellness. Like many who have gone through this process, there were a few bumps along the way but I'm willing to share anything I've experienced or learned along the way.
thanks
