Urgh - It May Be Back
PET Scan time, one of those blips in the lungs does not look like it is behaving properly. I suggested giving it a "time out," but Oncologist said that doesn't work usually. On the good news side, the other biopsy for the new cancer is probably going to be postponed if this is something and the Oncologist said if this one is something, no biggie to take care of it.
S--t. (Sorry, but that seems to be another word popping into my head now for some reason.)

No biggie
Really?!!! I just don't understand Doctor's. They act like its no big deal, when IT IS.
When I had my liver ablation, the surgeon said, all matter-of-factly 'Don't worry! When new tumours grow, we'll just go in and blast them'. Like it was no big deal that more tumours were going to grow. Well, it is a big deal, Mr. Surgeon.
I don't know if they really understand the fears and tears that go with a Cancer diagnosis (or any other serious, life-threatening diagnosis).
I am sorry to hear about the possible lung mets. I'll repeat my other post and say, lets keep the MAY in mind, and hope that its the MAY NOT instead.
Thinking of you!

As I will tell anyone, cancer is not something I suggest getting. BUT there are points which reaffirm my faith in humanity. The good, the strength and all the rest. Which no words can describe 100% until you get this put on your plate. I would be remiss in listing names here from this board, but you all are seriously tremendous on so many levels.

Sorry to hear about the lung blip. Maybe the oncologist didn't mean the blip was no big deal but that with all the new techniques and treatments available today it wouldn't be a major problem to get rid of it if it does turn out to be something. That said, I do hope it turns out to be no biggie. How soon before you'll find out for sure what it is and what the treatment options are?

It Is Easy (In The Grand Scheme and Context of No Biggie)
He meant that based on my general health (which is very good except for this cancer thing), the location and size of the growth, it will be relatively easy to take care of. I have a PET scan this week to see what that shows. It maybe something where nothing lights up, but I have a feeling there is more on the report. In the past all the variations were "just timing or so small difference that it cannot even be read from one to another." This time there was no doubt that it had increased in size. I asked that a few different ways. It may be nothing, but I had a rise in CEA which is why the scan was pushed up. The funny part if this is the first time that I went into a scan thinking it was going to show nothing and that variation in CEA was just one of those things. Go figure.

Thanks EasyFlip
Had a rise in CEA which resulted in the MRI. This thing that was suspect finally grew it looks like. Keeping fingers crossed, but the report says 75% chance it is a met. But we know how this goes. I am guessing a biopsy is in the near future regardless of what the PET scan shows. But danced the dance before, so just will go in and take care of business if it turns out not to be happy stuff.

dance the dance along side you, NH, if that is what it comes to.
I have another little dancing man (not my happy one) that would fit this, but still can't get this feature to work.
