in Kidney Cancer #1

Hi everyone.  New to boards and wondering if I should worry about MRI results.

First off I have Polycystic Kidney Disease stage 3B, dx when I was 30.  I also have cysts in the liver.  

I'm curious about the size of the cyst because everything I read seems to say anything over 4cm should be removed.  I can feel the cyst along with many others that I can feel & its very weird.  Due to my chronic pain from the enlarged cystic kidneys I would love to have one removed to make more room in there.

MRI showed a mildly complex cyst 7.2x5.2cm  with thin septation upper pole left kidney (both kidneys are covered in smaller fluid filled cysts too numerous to count). There are  bilateral foci of T1 hyperintense signal, the largest in the mid to lower pole left kidney, series 9 image 58, which measures 2.6 x 2.3 cm and likely represents a hemorrhagic cyst (which I believe is filled with blood).  

Liver: there is redemonstration of multiple T2 hyperintense cystic masses throughout the liver, many of which are subcentimeter in size. The largest of these is seen within the hepatic dome, series 4 image 6, and measures up to 3.6 cm which is slightly increased from prior measurement of 3.1 cm.

Right Ovary: there is a T2 hyperintense cystic mass in the right adnexa which measures 5.9 cm

    Complex diagnosis

    CSabol.

    I (as well as others on this board I suspect as well) am unable to interpret your diagnosis other than to suggest that you discuss this with a Urological Surgeon (kidney Surgery specialist) as well as other Doctors he may feel appropriate. While I might feel comfortable in talking about your 7.2 cm complex cyst on your kidney) it must be discussed in context of your other issues which are way above my paygrade. Hopefully you will get the answers you need this way. Others may chime in with their thoughts.

    We're just a bunch of people with cancer trying to help each other. As such we obviously welcome you, but the answer to your worries (as I'm sure you know) is that you need to speak to your doctor or a specialist.

    My suggestion....

    ....find a Urologic Oncologist.  (someone that specializes in cancer of the kidneys)  As suggested above, we are a bunch of people with the commonality of kidney cancer, might not be your case. 

    Hope this helps in some small way.
