Pat~U have come 2 the right place where "tired" patients meet!

    Dear Pat -

I think I sent you this link already, but it's a letter I sent to "BrianFromTheNorth" when he asked for help for his mom who was beginning chemotherapy.  Here is that link if I didn't send it to you.  http://csn.cancer.org/node/301646

I can tell you that "fatigue" is a common side effect of chemotherapy and eating regularly and getting proper amounts of protein, and hydration as well, are really important.  But as for fatigue, I have that still.  It goes along with cancer diagnoses, even if one isn't actively taking chemo.  Just don't fall into an "emotional woe-is-me worry pit" because that will "wear you out mentally" and not add one bit of energy to your day.  I doubt there's a person on this site, that didn't experience fatigue during their ongoing treatments.  And yes, the first treatment will seem fairly event-free as far as side effects go, but usually the chemo takes its toll, as we know that it will.  It's attacking the good and bad cells in your body.  There's a war going on inside, and you just have to pray that the "good guy" wins and kicks the cancer way back!

Love a "tired" soul sister, but my spirit is still strong.  Keep looking up Pat--keep the faith.

    Loretta

    ppurdin, Loretta hit it on

ppurdin, Loretta hit it on the head.  Fatigue is part of this treatment so don't fight it and sleep as much as you want.  Sleep is restorative and healing - so go with it.  I was fortunate that my fatigued has subsided over time, but after it was all done and then it took time.

    Our bodies usually tell us

Our bodies usually tell us what we need. Please listen and rest as much as possible . Chemo causes extreme fatigue and this unfortunately will get worse before it gets better. Never turn down help even if you don't need it in a particular day . Hope you stay strong and positive .
