2 days left of radiation and I'm so nauseous! Help

I only have two days left and I'm so nauseous haven't eaten all day. I do not have a feeding tube and I don't want. I've been drinking water all day. My throat is so swollen and tongue is full of sores.  I keep reheating a bowl of puréed rice but can't seem to eat it.

    Hang in There

Sorry to hear that it's being so hard on you.  Most every one of us didn't want to complete the rads for the same reasons you state.  All you can do is go forward knowing that this will eventually be in the past.

Use all your magic mouthwash and hang on.

The last few days of rads

The last few days of rads were the hardest for my husband. As Tom said, you have to hang in there. Get rid of the rice, and try something else. Anything you can think of. Take comfort in knowing that it will be over soon.

    You poor guy!

My heart aches for you...I know what it's like and so do most here.  How about vanilla ice cream, would that slide down? Or ice slushed with some flavoring?  You made the goal, you are there...hang on!  All blessings to you.

I'm so sorry.  At that point

I'm so sorry.  At that point in treatment I was vomiting up my tube feeding and then the mucous set in.  I went to bed with bags to vomit and or spit in and rolls of toilet paper to spit in.  Hang in there.  You will be in a better place soon.  Keep drinking water.  Huggs and Prayers.

Just one day at a time....You are there.

So sorry, but you are almost done. Just go hour by hour if you have to. Then one day at a time.  The radiation scrambles your DNA, so when the cells divied they just die because your DNA has changed. Ssooooo Close just hang in there.

    Admitted

I went for my 29the treatment and afterwards I was admitted in to hospital. I'm now in the city where I work Pune, India at Ruby Hall Clinic. It's nit as nice as the hospital in Mumbai but they made me feel better. I'm on am IV with fluids plus dynapar for pain and Forcan for the lesions on my tongue and throat. Suddenly the pain in my throat was almost gone and I felt like eating. Had a good and soft lunch and finally a nap. I feel like this is helping. Thank you all for your replies! Sometimes I feel like all this pain is uniquely hitting me and sure does help knowing I'm not alone. Early on several people told me the third week would be the worst and then it would get better. It has only gotten worse since the third week. I hope my next post is all about the progress I am making.

Good to read your news, Joseph...

Sounds like you are stabilized and in good hands.  Don't hesitate to ask for pain meds or help when you need it...cancer is like a cage match and you need backup.  No, treatment does not crest or get better after the third week.  What DOES get better is that you are each day closer to your goal and to the beginning of the recovery period.  One day at a time, just like AA.

    The worst is already over.

The worst is already over. About 2 weeks after my radiation ended I discovered french toast & scrambled eggs felt very comfortable on my mouth and throat. Then shortly aterwards a Subway meatball marinara (not toasted)was soothing on my throat. I don't know when I fully got my taste back. At first it was pleasant enough just knowing that I coud get good nitrition with real food instead of just a liquid diet.

    All your response are

All your response are reassuring. I can't wait to eat again. It's been so long for me here in India where non spice food is almost unheard of. I had to threaten them that I would not pay if there was a spectacular if spice or peppers in my meal. Only a few restaurants got it so I stopped eating out with friends.
