A pain in the neck
So, I'm having this incredible pain in the base of my neck. Blinding pain. It started last week, then eased off, and came back today. I decided (after some prodding from my husband and his family) to go to the acute clinic held on Satruday mornings. The Doc says he wants to check for a brain tumour. WHAT?!!
Normally, the first thing that jumps to my mind, when I have an ache or pain, is Cancer, but not this time. I was totally floored.
Personally, Dr. Sue Trubrit thinks its a pulled neck muscle. I'll give it a few days to see if it eases up, and if not go in for the x-ray the Doctor ordered.

Boy, having the doc go there,
Boy, having the doc go there, when we're already sensitive to that type of diagnosing, sucks. If it hurts as you move it, or have limited movement, almost always suggests a muscle pull, NOT A TUMOUR[ with my Schwartznegger voice]. I once woke up on a couch, pushed off with my head, heared a pop, then couldn't get my chin off my chest. That took a few trips to the chiropractor and a few days, but it got better. The neck is pretty easy to tweak and is slow to heal, so just take it easy Sue, and maybe get a horseshoe shaped pillow so you don't tweak it while your sleeping. And tell the good doctor to go check himself.................................Dave

It goes with the territory Sue
A few years ago I was passing quite a bit of blood thru my urine.. I told my doc I had been passing some uric acid kidney stones but no he all but turned me inside out looking for bladder cancer. He finally had to acknowledge that it was probably kidney stones. I hope your pulled neck muscle heals up quickly , ron.

Hope it's nothing Sue. When
Hope it's nothing Sue. When my husband was in the hospital in January, something showed up on a scan that had the neuro team insisting he had a brain tumor. The onc on call at the time and his own onc both said no, it's not a tumor. But agreed that it made sense to have an MRI. The oncs were right - no tumor.
Hope you feel better soon.

Oh good lord, Sue. What a
Oh good lord, Sue. What a thing to say to you. I think that's terribly thoughtless to suggest that without further investigation. We already live with the idea that every little ache and pain could be cancer again as it is. That's crap. I hope it passes soon, it sounds nasty.
