Anyone on steroids and systemic treatment?

in Kidney Cancer #1

In 2007, I had my left kidney and adrenal gland removed due to renal cell cancer.  I have been cancer free until October

when rcc mets were found in a lymph gland in my chest and in my right adrenal gland.  The lymph gland was successfully

removed with surgery, but complications kept the adrenal gland tumor from being completely removed.  The plan now

is to put me on systemic treatment to try to shrink what is left of the adrenal gland tumor.  Since I no longer have

any working adrenal glands, I will have to be on steroids for the rest of my life.

Is anyone else in this situation?  I'm wondering how systemic treatment is going to be affected by having to take

steroids, since the dose of the steroids has to be closely monitored and adjusted according to how much physical stress

my body is under.  It seems like this will be a difficult balancing act.

    I'm sorry, I have no input for you regarding these treatments but want to wish you the best outcome.  May I ask, what Stage were you diagnosed with in 2007?

    I'll be praying for you and your doctors to find the right combination for you.

    steroids no biggie

    My pituatary gland was done in with x-ray .....Well, either with the treatment in 2006 or the one in 2008.  No matter as it was weakened by the tumor.  My thyroid was lost due to a weakened pit.  And I guess my other testicle went then as well.  Lost both adrenals.  Yawn.  Rereading this I have to say I should be a mess. 

    The Wife gives me a shot of testosterone one a month.  I take synthroid for the thyroid.  And Prednisone for the rest.

    I have had the pleasure of sutent votrient something else, I've forgotten. Well anyway I am now taking inlyta.

    For stress ?  Define stress.  Stress for my body is gout.  Lots of prednisone. , followed by a taper down to my normal dose. About 28 days.  I have surgery without doing that. 

    I see my endo guy twice a year.  I am dialed in and with the one little thing no changes.  Bloodwork helps him withe the dial in for a couple.  One is a got to see me look me in the eye kind of thing.  Still, no change since 2004. 

    I left out dose as your mileage may vary. 

    Relax this is the easy stuff.

    In 2007, I was stage 2

    In 2007, I was stage 2 furhman grade 3 with a 14 cm tumor. After my kidney was removed, I was put into the Sutent, Nexavar clinical trial for 13 months.   Based on the side effects, I knew I was getting the Sutent.  As I said, I was cancer free for 8-1/2 years, until October of 2015.  I thought I was done with all this.
