Post Surgery Appointment
Appointment with my surgeon went well. He was astonished I was off pain meds, just taking a Tylenol once in awhile and was walking so well. In fact he told me I was amazing. Some of his patients half my age don't recover so well.
The staples are out all 89 of them.
2 more weeks of being careful of stairs.
1 more month of no lifting over 10lbs.
I get to keep adding food. He says it is Ok to try a few more fresh fruits and veggies. I can start driving short distances in another week.
I came home and walked a mile to celebrate. Yup made a full mile today.
Next step will be meeting with my oncologist in the next couple weeks. But my surgeon says as far as he and pathology can tell they got everything. I am trying to focus on that and healing and planning a trip to Las Vegas next month to celebrate making it through surgery.

Congratulations!
So good to be past the surgery.
Be real sure to follow the post surgery guidelines. Definitely no heavy lifting, or even semi heavy. And one mile walk is good, but be careful not to overdo that as well. I remember walking, feeling good, getting about half a mile from the house and then not being able to get back.
Hope all is sunny at your next Oncology appointment.

I love reading such positive
I love reading such positive posts. I never expected when I joined this group that there would be so many positive experiences. It gives the rest of us hope and that's the best thing we can have.
Enjoy yourself in Vegas!!!!!!!!!

Glad you are recovering so well
Its good to hear things are going so well for you! I'm still in the hospital, but will probably be discharged today or tomorrow. My surgeon was able to use robotic surgery, so i ony have 3 small incisions, instead of the large one. Still painful, though because the colon and small intestines are still angry about the abuse. Hope all continues to go well.
