6 MONTH SCAN UPDATE!!!! NURVES
its been 6 months since my post op from my surger, the dr's requested that a scan be done, neither good or bad results right now but i can help but be scared, one of the lynph nodes in my pelvice area has inlarged two sizes since surgery and my chest area shows two more, not to mention i have two spots on my lungs that have enlarged two sizes. my oncologist wants to get me over to a pulminary dr as soon as possible. and the crappy end to all of this ,my husband and myself are having to pay out of pockect for the hole thing. talk about a stress kicker. everyday seems to be getting harder and harder to fake a smile and get out of bed in the morning. i know when i try to talk to my family they just keep telling me everything will be okay and that we will get through this. not that i dont love them and i am so thank ful for their encourgment but its really hard to stay that positive all the time. they cant promise me that it will be all okay, and it just seems to stress me out more knowing they are all stressed and they wont really talk to me about how they feel and i mean really feel.

I'm sorry
to hear you have to deal with this. You're right... it's all a stress kicker, the financial stuff on top of the medical and emotional stuff. I'm sure your family is just trying to help you not stress out, but it's true that sometimes we all feel down and that bright cheery "it's going to be all right" rings a bit hollow. A frank discussion with them might help you all, if you can get them to speak honestly with you.
I don't know how you deal with the normal stress in your life... whether it's exercise, meditation, or a hobby. But if you are really feeling at the end of your rope, and nothing is working, you might consider speaking to your doctor about anti-anxiety medication. Some women on this site have found that helpful to deal with the stress on a short-term basis.
I feel for you, I do.

I'm so sorry you're having to
I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. Just the stress of cancer is MORE than enough to deal with! Financial concerns and dealing with well-meaning relatives make the stress even worse. I agree with Chris - talk to your doctor about some short-term medication to relieve the anxiety.

I'm so sorry about your
I'm so sorry about your stress. Cancer is bad enough, but yes the financial stress is real! People try to be helpful, but they aren't going through it so they don't always understand how it's hard to stay positive all the time. Prayers for you! It's a difficult journey and I hope you have some positive test results in the future.

Please consider contacting
Please consider contacting the hospital/clinic you are getting your services at. Often times they have significant funds they can use to help people who financially qualify. I have a friend who had her entire hysterectomy paid for by the "Caring Hands" organization through the hospital. I hope you get some good news on your results. Prayers!!!

Lost in the fog ...
I HEAR you! Depression is a natural condition with a Cancer diagnosis. You are not alone in struggling to keep a smile on your face for your family. Please contact a mental health professional and have this checked out. The most damaging characteristi of depression is that it saps your energy and makes unavailable to you strengths you may normally have. In our conditions, depleted of energy due to Cancer, we can not afford to lose any ability we may have to survive. I'm a psychologist and can assure you that we know how to help with depression. You do not have to feel this bad! There should be no or low cost clinics somewhere around you. Check it out and let us hear from you. We care.
