Bleeding

I just want to share some info with those of you that have rectal bleeding issues. I had  been experiencing a bout of rectal bleeding this past winter, enough to be alarming. Thankfully my last anoscopy, my last exam and my last scan were all clear. My colo-rectal surgeon told me it was just due to the radiation damage and to increase my vitamin uptake. She put me on a regiment of 400 mg of vitamin E 3x a day and 500 mg of C 1x a day. I had been taking the C all along but added the E 3x a day and what a difference it has made, the bleeding ceased. The past few weeks have been so crazy I veered off my faithful regiment and surely saw the difference with having some bleeding back. I am now back on my regiment and again see the positve difference, So for whatever it's worth to those of you experiencing bleeding give it a try. I am convinced it's working.

    Vitamin E - How interesting!

    Thanks so much for passing this along.  I'm not faithful in taking my multivitamins but I'm going to have to see this this coincides with my incidents of bleeding and perhaps adopt your regiment.

    I have a problem with bleeding so am starting to take more vitamins and especially C and E to see if it helps.  My surgeon told me the same thing, that radiation damage was the cause.  Keeping my fingers crossed.
