She is having the lung biopsy. I should explain. I was more looking to see if anyone had complications with the procedure.
Ksdehn,
I had two lung biopsies. One was done through my nose and the 2nd through an incision in my throat. No problems with either biopsy. The results showed I did have lung cancer. Keep the faith!

Lung biopsy
i just had a needle guided lung biopsy last Thursday. I don't even have the results yet, but I would advise you to have her do the biopsy. It's not that difficult to go through and it's the only true way to be sure. It's been only a couple of days and I feel fine, so really, it's worth it. Good luck, to both of I guess!

Hi again,
I have had two rounds of chemo after the removal of my right lung. The first round was four treatments. Unfortunately the cancer came back and I had to have six more treatments that ended at the end of Oct. 2015. Doing better all the time but I do still have shortness of breath. I'll take it over the alternative. Let us know how your mom does.
Good luck and keep your chin up!

Biopsy came back benign but gyn/onc doesn't believe it. They are recommending a biopsy where you go down the throat instead of the needle biopsy. Has this happened before to anyone. We are still holding on to hope that the first biopsy was correct.
I certainly hope the 1st biopsy was correct as well. Its hard with the needle biopsies because you may get good tissue and miss the cancer.
The only way my dr was sure it was cancer for me was I had the vats procedure and had my lower right lobe removed and it was biopsied right there in the OR. I had a prior cancer as well and my lung cancer was a seperate primary.
Once the biopsy is performed down the throat and it comes back benign then that should be confirmed that its not cancer.
I wish you both well. Lori

Hi Ksdehn,
I had had a biopsy through my nose, down my throat, but mine came back positive for lung cancer.
Glad to hear the biopsy came back negative. Another way they can check is by doing a Pet Scan. Maybe you could talk to your mom's doctor about that.
I hope all goes well. Let us know. I will keep your family in my prayers.

location of nodules
Ok, so they are going to attempt another ct guided needles biopsy on another nodule. They said they cannot perform the biopsy where they go down the throat due to the location of the nodules. Ugh! the first needle biopsy was benign but the doctor is convinced this is a mestastatic lung cancer (not primary lung cancer) due to the fact my mom has had both breast (19 years ago) and most recently endometrial which was stage 1.....Hard to believe either of these cancers spread to the lungs being breast was 19 years ago and endometrial didn't leave the uterus....I still am holding out hope this is benign. thanks to all of you that replied. Anyone else have to have multiple needle biopsies to get a diagnosis?
at what point do we just repeat a CT scan in 3 months to see what the nodules do? My mom just went through a major surgery abdominal hysterectomy so I hate seeing her go through all this?
