    Jen:

I am so very sorry for you and your family and what you are facing.  You have been a wonderful caregiver caring for your husband while managing a household with three children.   Yes, it is not fair and the coming days will be so sad for you.  You have been strong through this journey with cancer and that strength will carry you forward.  I know how very difficult the coming days will be for you and your children and family, it is so very heartbreaking.   May your husband be comforted by your love and be pain free and feel peace.

Love to you and your entire family.

Sending loving thoughts your way ...

as you and your family enter this stage of your journey together.

It has been almost three years since my husband passed.  The hospice care we received at the end of his life was loving, kind, and supportive.  My heart aches for you and your children.  The time approaches that your loving husband will be free of suffering and although not with you in form will remain with you always in heart.

    Peace, courage and comfort.

    Just plain sucks

Jen, I am so sorry to read this.  I was in your shoes in September 2014.  It is the most devastating news after a long battle with cancer.    I can only echo the kind words of others here.  My husband was on home hospice for about 3 weeks and then I had to move him to a hospice facility for his last 11 days.  The facility was a peaceful, loving place for my husband and my family.  I was able to just be his wife there, no longer the medical caregiver.  My husband did not suffer once he got on the pain pump.  The hospice facility also provided counseling for me, our daughters and grandsons.  Take advantage of anything they may offer you and your children.

    Peace and love, Linda

Thank you all.  Seems like a really bad joke that we got this news on April fools day.  He was doing so well

on chemo.  Cea went from 1100 to 64 in three treatments.  Then before chemo last Monday it was in 200s on Friday 2600 and liver function tests were bad.  Just so hard to believe.

Hospice came Saturday and I sent them away.  Young nurse doing what I call learning the sympathy face.  And asking so many questions I didn't want to answer.  Especially after two hours sleep.

He wanted to come home but Doctor pushed for him staying here.  I don't think I could do it at home.  The kids and I have moved into his hospital room and it's just better this way.  And they have the most caring nurses who treat us like family.  They've cried with me, played with our 4 year old, brought us donuts on their way in and bring us coffee , muffins and cereal in the morning.  Amazing Angels.

weve been blessed in many ways through this ordeal , including the support of you guys here.  So sad how many are gone.  I want Craig to answer my post with some words of wisdom and comfort :(

wishing you strength and the good fortune to have sensitive, caring staff at the hospital.

Hope that his transition is painless.

    D*** Cancer!

That is the sad face of Caner. It can turn on a dime. Get your hopes up and then dash them to pieces in a heartbeat.

I am happy to hear that you are all being taken care of. Good nurses and staff are worth their weight in gold.

Sit peacefully when you can. You will hear Craig's voice. Even if it is an old post, with advice from the past, it will be for you.

    Blessings!

      Dear Jen,
         Just want

      Dear Jen,

Just want you to know that you and your family are in my every prayer.  Hospice is wonderful for many people but not for everyone...it was not for my family. after a hospice try, we chose the hospital route, too, and it was right for us. There is not just one way to do this. You know what is best for those you love.

         We are with you.

         Hugs, CM
