Five years...
Five years ago this month I was diagnosed with stage 2 anal cancer - my, how time flies! Now I'm dealing with DCIS (Ductal carcinoma in situ) - it's either one end or the other. This was day 6 of radiation treatments and 29 more to go. It's still early, but so far so good (knock on wood). I smear on emu oil when I get home from radiation per my sister's recommendation who dealt with this over 10 years ago.Other than that I'm during pretty well and still able to take care of my chickens.
So for those of you going through treatment now, you'll get through it.
Wishing everyone the best!

Wow, 5 years! You have weathered the storm--that is awesome! I'm just sorry you have another thing to deal with, but you are very strong and determined and you'll get through it! I'm glad that treatment is going well and, as always, I wish you all the best. You will soon be crossing the finish line! Hugs!

March 14, 2013 was my last day of treatment and that's when I celebrate my "anniverary."
Well wishes for your current treatment.
Keep us posted.
Tracey
Thanks for your well wishes! I, too consider my official "anniversary" post treatment which will be June 1st. It's just strange that I'm going through treatment again for a different area about the same time as first diagnosis. Kind of deja vou' (sp). Now I'll get to celebrate two different anniversaries. Lol!

As usual, thanks so much for your words of encouragement! I was hoping I wouldn't have to weather another storm - Lol! But then again, after the storm comes the rainbow...Today, I was impressed that the radiation oncologist asked about the emu oil and wanted to know if I had it with me so I'll bring it next week when I see him. He made an interesting remark saying they like to see a "little red" to make sure the radiation dosage is right. Well, we all know our radiation dose was correct since we were fried - maybe we were overcooked? He's so much better than previous radiation oncologist. The entire staff is great. Hope I still feel that way in a few weeks - Lol!
The radiation "table" hasn't improved in 5 years - it's still hard.Ann

I hope things will go well with your other cancer treatment. And I'm so happy that you're so close to the day you celebrate your cancer-free anniversary. I'm with you and Tracye. My last day was Oct. 18 so that's the day I mark with something special.
