Update from Lou Ann
Today was supposed to be chemo 31 but no such luck. Because o the Nuelasta shot my wbc was the only blood counts that were any where near. Platelets, RBC and hemoglobin were way to low. So I got two units of blood instead. By the time they typed, cross matched it and infused it we got on the road to head home at 4:30 in a major snow storm. At least I know why I have been so terrible tired and week. Hopefully my blood counts will come up by next week so we can go ahead with the chemo. I got a steroid shot for the pain in my back/hip last Friday, but so far it has not helped much so I am still taking oxicodone. Sitting through the blood transfusion was not easy.
hugs and prayers to all of you, Lou Ann

Well, that just sucks, Lou Ann. Hope everything gets back on track for you next week.
And I'm so sorry you are still dealing with that back pain. You are such a strong woman and have put up with so much already. I'm hoping things get better for you soon.

That really sucks Lou Ann! I was hoping your back was all healed darn it. Taking a week off of chemo may just be what you need to get back on your feet though. Feel better my friend and don't push yourself. Maybe a gentle back massage will help?

Update to the update
I have more strength than I have had fo a long time thanks to the blood transfusion I had on Monday. My back still hurts, but the pain mds are working pretty good. Yesterday I was able to make a short shopping trip through Walmart with out having to be pushed or stopping to sit down and rest(my dog thought he needed food). Hopefully my platelets will be high enough to continue with the chemo.
Again this morning I was reminded how blessed I am with the medical care I recieve here in small town America. My doctor's nurse called to check up on me because he wanted to know how I was doing.
Hugs and prayers to all of you, Lou Ann

(((Lou Ann))) I think of your mantra often "More good days than bad." I'm happy to hear that yesterday and today were some of the "good" ones. I hope your blood counts will be up there and your chemo can be continued.

I am glad to hear that the blood transfusion has revived your innate strength. We are all in your corner like cheerleaders at a basketball game. Soon you will be on track for your next chemo. I wish that I had a magic wand with fairy dust and could make each of us healthy, strong AND cancer free. Wishing you the very best, Lou Ann!

Lou Anne I admire how you appreciate and praise your medical team , it speaks volume of good about you,
Too often we are displeased and discouraged because they are not mending us, not realizing that we do need them if only with their patches.
I wish you hurried reprieve from the constant treatment but admire your strength and resolve to fight. You inspire us.
Moli, simply loving you.

Lou Ann, I'm sorry that you
Lou Ann, I'm sorry that you didn't have your treatment, but so glad you got the blood! I also had a bout of extreme tiredness and yes, I needed 2 units of blood and what an improvement ! I'm hoping that brings the rest of your counts up. Thinking positive thoughts for you!
