Erbitux Stage 4
Hello - I usaully post to forum for anal cancer, which is disease I'm coping with. Recently I was put on Erbitux and another chemo drug by my oncologist. Research has shown Erbitux effective in other HPV cancers, not just Head and Neck Cancer. I've done two treatments. I broke out in horrible rash after first treatment. Using creams, I've since kept rash in check.
I would be interested to hear from any longtime users, particularly those diagnosed stage 3 or 4.
Today is my second "anniversary" living with stage 4.
Thank you!

Erbitux
The rash from Erbitux can get pretty ugly. My cancer was SCC, Stage 4a, HPV negative, base of tongue with spread to a lymph node on each side of my neck. During treatment I looked like a teenager with acne and a bad sunburn. It was managed with an antibiotic and I also found making a wash out of oatmeal and cool water calmed the itching. The rash did clear up shortly after treatment stopped, but my eyelashes continued to grow for a few more weeks. I had no lasting effects except that there is now no evidence of cancer, which made it all worthwhile! I hope your experience is the same.

Hi tallorder
When I got a rash in or out of treatment I used Desitin Rapid Relief Cream, I find it works just as good for when my PEG tube Stoma gets red and blister from leaking.
The way I see it anything that works use it, just make sure it is safe first.
Welcome to the H&N side
