Did you talk to them about a permanent drain. I am going to push for a permanent drain if it comes back fast. I will have no problems doing it myself. Had to do it on a lung pleura drain for 4 weeks last summer.

Praying a permanent drain won't be necessary. You have been through so much. Thinking of you.

No to permanent drain. Too risky for infection. So I will continue to get it drained as needed which looks like at least every 2 weeks since I am full again and it has only been a week since last drain. Oh well. Just one more thing to do. At least my oncologist is still watching out for my long term survival.

I am sorry that you have to even do that, but, you do what you have to do.
Your Oncologist does sound like she/he is on the ball, and that makes me happy.
Thanks for the update, Jeff.

I hope they can get on figuring out a way to stop this from happening. The little extras with cancer can be the worst part of having it. Keep up the good fight! My thoughts are with you.

I was told the same thing. I went into get drained again today. They were able to pull out another 4.5 liters from my abdomen. There are apparently some other pockets as well including around my liver that they didn't go after. It is a shame that we are filling back up so quickly.
