Night Sweats
Hi,
I just finished radiation treatments on Feb. 17! Happy to be on the other side. Quick question for my new friends - any one experiencing night sweats
during and after radiation and before the oral meds?

Thanks for your quick reply. Im 63 so menopause is long over for me. My radiation treatment ended mid February and since then Ive been having these night sweats. I will begin the oral meds next week. So that is my question has anyone had the night sweats following radiation treatment and before they began the medication.

Seems to me that the sweats
Seems to me that the sweats for me started after I began Tamoxifen. I have to laugh because I found myself warm and perspiring mornings at work around 8:30-9:00. On weekends, it tended to happen an hour or two later. I figured out that (1) the warm times tended to be about two hours after I took my tamoxifen (mornings). Oddly, the weather also seemed to impact things, as mornings that tended to be warm and a bit humid were the days I was bothered more. Here in CNY not a lot of places, including schools and churches, have AC. At home I do because we upgraded severeal years ago when we replaced our furnace.
As for night time, I find that about 2:00 is when I want to kick off my blankets -- and I do for a bit; then I am fine.
I started tamoxifen before I started radiation, and so I can't say that radiation was my culprit.
Hope this board helps give you some possible answers, though.

Night Sweats
Huh. I'm not sure that I've ever heard of anyone having night sweats following radiation. I'd probably check in with one of the nurses at your RO's office.
I'm having night sweats from Tamoxifen, so you have my sympathy!
I'd be curious to hear what they have to say or recommend.
Take care!

They only thing that helped me was a fan/ and laying of my clothing. Many nights I had to change and shower before returning back to bed.
our bodies are going thru so much - maybe it is our bodies way of riding itself of toxins. I increased my water intake, why .. Hydrate hydrate hydrate is what was poundEd into my head my Onco Staff.
hoping for cooler days, and nights for you.
