Heading to the doctor tomorrow
It's been a little over five months since my hysterectomy and this morning I found blood. I called my oncologist's office and my chemo nurse called me back. She said it was probably some "granulation" in the vaginal cuff and would have to be cauterized. I FINALLY got my port site healed after how many months and now this!!! I see my oncologist's PA tomorrow morning and they'll decide what to do. BUMMER!!!

Eldri

I'm seeing my oncologist's PA
I'm seeing my oncologist's PA and she's pretty good. I just remember how painful it was when they snipped off some of the excess tissue of my port site and did the chemical cauterization with silver nitrate. I've looked online and the women who have had this problem say it was painful to have treated since they don't numb it first. If it's too bad, they can do surgery to remove the excess tissue, cauterize it and hope it heals. After the port fiasco, I'm not real optimistic. I asked her if it could be the uterine cancer spreading and she said the chance is very small since only the very top of my cervix showed any cancer cells where it had spread from the uterus.
My husband is going to take me tomorrow since, if they do any cutting and cauterizing, I probably won't be in any shape to drive home. I also plan to take some Percoset before I go....just in case. I haven't had an exam since my surgery.

A couple of the ladies on my
A couple of the ladies on my other uterine cancer site said they had to have it done MULTIPLE times - one over a year's time until the granulated skin healed - YIKES!! I'm going to ask them to biopsy the area - at least take a scraping if they don't cut it out. Another lady, though, said they cauterized hers once with minimal discomfort and she never had any problem with bleeding again. I'm hoping that's MY experience - LOL!!!
As one of my favorites, Gilda Radner's Roseannadanna would say, "Well, Jane, it just goes to show you, it's always something — if it ain't one thing, it's another." Rest in peace, Gilda!

So sorry Eldri
This wind my sisters we cannot direct but we must be resolved to keep resetting sails. My sister Eldri it breaks my heart that you hardly got time out to catch your breath but take comfort from the fact that our greatest worries most times turns out to be trivial fixable things.I am hoping, wishing and praying this is one of those.
Just imagine us there, if only in spirit we are ready to brace you.
Moli , sending plenty love and whispering hope.

Well, I went to my
Well, I went to my appointment and my oncologist's PA checked me over six ways from Sunday!! She even took pictures and there was NOTHING!! She said the only thing she saw was some little "webby" scar tissue around the stitches on the vaginal cuff which didn't surprise her since I scar (keloids) pretty badly no matter what. She thinks some of the scar tissue was kind of like a small spider web and when I washed windows on Sunday, some of the little "webs" were broken. She asked if my husband and I had intercourse since I had my surgery and I told her we hadn't. She said if we had, those little "webs" would have been broken then - that's why some women will experience some light bleeding. She said there was nothing to biopsy and she snipped the remaining little piece of "web." Unless something else comes up, she'll see me in three months. What a relief!!!
She also set me up for physical therapy because of the neuropathy. She thinks my hip pain is being caused because I'm walking crooked on my left foot but the therapy will help that. She checked my port site scar - it's an ugly bugger, but then, I get keloid scars so easily. I still have a scar on my left arm from when my cat scratched me when I was in second grade!

How great is that news. And I hope the physical therapy helps with the hip pain. I'm going to try to rub the new formula Aspercream with Liodocane on my legs when they start to act up with my next chemo (I got good news today too, my blood is good enough to get chemo tomorrow) and see if that helps. Hugs Nancy
