Lump in armpit

Hi everyone.. Just want to say thank you for all the advice everyone gives.  I have recently found a new bb size lump in the inner armpit area closest to my breast area.  It has been there for about four weeks and isn't going away.  I have had bilateral mastectomy , lymphnode removal chemo radiation and expanders .  This lump is new and scares me.  i plan on getting it checked out but was wondering if anyone else can relate or have any idea if it could be a lymphnode or a lump.  Like I said its bb size right now.  Thank you in advance. Hope everyone has a great day ..

Mary

    Underarm lumps and bumps

After all you have been through, to find a new lump has got to be frightening. Your post refers to  a lymph node removal but you didn't say if all the axillary nodes were removed or only the sentinel node. It seems to me if ANY of the nodes were left in place then cancer has an opportunity to migrate to that node. In my own case my cancer was first discovered because I found a swelling in my underarm lymph nodes. No cancer was ever found in any of my breast tissue. Even if it is an enlarged lymph node that doesn't mean it is malignant. Nodes do develop infections that can be cured with antibiotics, also. Let's hope it is that scenario. You are correct to get it checked out ASAP. With a history of cancer one cannot be too careful. I wish you the best of luck. Please keep us posted.

    lymphnodes

Hi thank you for your response.  Yes I had fifteen lymphnodes removed and the sentinel lymphnode.  Three of them were cancerous. I will post with any new results as soon as I know.  Thank you take care.

    Update

Thank you for checking. I haven't been on for awhile been sick with stomach flu.  I had ultrasound of lump and the surgeon thinks it's tissue changes and to watch it if it gets bigger. Well it has changed this week so I'm going back to drs on Friday. Thank you for asking. I will update again soon.  Thank you

    take care :)

    Thinking of you, Mary!

Good the DR is on top of it.  Sorry you had to deal with flu though. That is miserable!  Hugs, Linda
